A Direct Support Professional provides continuous supervision and promotes the safety and well-being of people receiving services; maximizes the self-help skills of each person in the areas of daily living, recreation, and health; oversees food preparation and household tasks performed by people; manages the daily routine of the household and perform food preparation, cleaning and other household tasks so that a safe, efficient, and pleasant home life is maintained.
Some homes may require the ability to lift and transfer persons with physical challenges and others require strength and agility to provide physical intervention to persons with challenging behaviors.
